4 ways to reuse coffee grounds

Don't throw away the coffee grounds just yet. Here are 4 ways to reuse them once you've enjoyed your morning cuppa.

October 22, 2020
  1. Scouring pots and pans: Use coffee grounds to remove gunk from pots and pans. Coffee grounds are abrasive but still soft enough to be used safely, without damaging your favourite pans. Rinse well afterwards.
  2. Keep your fridge smelling fresh: Place a small container of coffee grounds in the fridge to absorb odours.
  3. A natural exfoliator: Coffee grounds make an excellent exfoliating body scrub. Just add used grounds to a bit of warm water or your favourite oil – such as coconut or sweet almond.
  4. Make soap: Make a simple soap by melting a bar of glycerine soap and then adding approximately 1/3 cup of grounds. The mixture can then be reshaped into a bar that is great for exfoliating and scrubbing.
