So, what can you make? Well, the possibilities are endless! Here are a few ideas to get you started.
- Have a baking session and make biscuits, brownies, cakes or slices.
- Create infused oils and vinegars using your favourite herbs, spices, or even citrus peels.
- Mix up your own signature spice blends, like a zesty taco seasoning or a fragrant curry powder.
- Put together a batch of delicious homemade granola loaded with nuts, dried fruits, and seeds.
- Create your own hot chocolate mix by combining cocoa powder, sugar, and mini marshmallows.
- If you have a lemon or orange tree in your garden (or a friendly neighbour with one!) have a go at making lemon curd or marmalade.
- Make a batch of chilli sauce – you can adjust the chilli heat depending on who you are giving it to!
- And if you need a last-minute gift – whip up a batch of our microwave chocolate brownies!
You can also save on ingredients if you opt for generic brands at the supermarket.
Get creative with packaging—visit your local op shop for containers or use what you already have at home – save empty jars to reuse and hang on to biscuit tins to repurpose.
By making edible gifts, you not only save money but also add a personal touch that store-bought presents cannot match. Your friends and family will appreciate the time, effort, and love you put into creating something special just for them.
It’s also a good idea to add a list of ingredients, just in case of allergies.
