Perth is a termite hotspot and termite activity is a year-round process; but there are times when their behaviour can be a bit more predictable.
A winter termite inspection can locate where termites are feeding. They don't stop being active or hungry in winter, but they slow down and travel shorter distances making it more likely for them to choose a termite bait instead of food sources which are further away.
This makes winter the perfect time to intercept them before they start chomping their way through your home. When the warmer weather arrives, termites start to multiply and travel further looking for food sources, making them harder to locate and control.
Remember:
- Termites never stop being active or hungry!
- In winter they slow down to stay warm.
- Your warm and cosy home is the perfect place for them to have a winter break!
- Termites can remain in your home for years if not treated effectively.
Termites cause more damage to Australian homes than storms, fires and burglaries combined, and your house insurance won't cover you for termite damage. This is why it's so important to have to have a regular termite inspection whatever the season.
